My name is john hardy, I am currently employed as contracts manager for Clearview home improvements ltd and as part of the business continuous improvements programme It was requested that I undertook the level 7 NVQ in senior construction management, now I don’t know about anyone else but classroom learning never suited me, so to say I was hesitant would probably be an understatement, but never the less I was introduced to upskill assessment and training. My assessor Frank, contacted me, and a zoom meeting introduction was quickly set up, frank explained the course and how it was done on a one to one basis involving a recorded video assessment at various stages of the training, the work I carried out was uploaded to an online system which was very easy to use, Frank was easy to talk to and soon put my mind at rest.
The work I undertake is on multiple site throughout the north west of England, and in my role as contracts manager, I have to be very reactive to any issues that my occur on site, I had to cancel quite a few zoom appointments due to working commitments, but every time this happened upskill re-appointed a new zoom meeting time and date which really helped me to be able to complete all the required works, I would have found it nearly impossible to agree to attend a classroom setting at specific date and times, so for me without upskill I would not have been able to undertake this training. The training itself helped me look and evaluate the work we undertake as a business and guided me in to making specific changes within the business that has not only benefited our customers, but also our employees and subcontracts.
I can’t thank frank and the upskill team enough for all there help over the past few months, it has been an absolute pleasure, and for anyone thinking about taking this course, I would simply say, sign up, you won’t regret it.
